For what good will it do a person if he gains the whole world, but forfeits his soul? Or what will a person give in exchange for his soul? This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come. And when you are praying, do not use thoughtless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard because of their many words. Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke of a letter shall pass from the Law, until all is accomplished! It is not this way among you, but whoever wants to become prominent among you shall be your servant, and whoever desires to be first among you shall be your slave. Look at the birds of the sky, that they do not sow, nor reap, nor gather crops into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more important than they? But as for you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door, and pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.
