| Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will follow My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our dwelling with him.” | Jesus replied, “All who love me will do what I say. | Incline my heart to Your testimonies, And not to dishonest gain. | Give me an eagerness for your laws rather than a love for money! |

| You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. | Timothy, my dear son, be strong through the grace that God gives you in Christ Jesus. |

| I have made a covenant with my eyes; How then could I look at a virgin? | I made a covenant with my eyes not to look with lust at a young woman. |
| My mouth is filled with Your praise And with Your glory all day long. | That is why I can never stop praising you; I declare your glory all day long. |
| And if I give away all my possessions to charity, and if I surrender my body so that I may glory, but do not have love, it does me no good. | If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing. |
| Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know when I sit down and when I get up; You understand my thought from far away. | O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. |
| The one who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and the one who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will reveal Myself to him. | Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them. |
| Even before there is a word on my tongue, Behold, Lord, You know it all. | You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord. |
| So will My word be which goes out of My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the purpose for which I sent it. | It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it. |
| I have treasured Your word in my heart, So that I may not sin against You. | I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. |
| So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly My disciples; and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” | Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” |
| Establish my footsteps in Your word, And do not let any wrongdoing have power over me. | Guide my steps by your word, so I will not be overcome by evil. |
| For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst. | For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them. |
| By this all people will know that you are My disciples: if you have love for one another. | Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples. |
| Yet as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, And at the last, He will take His stand on the earth. | But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, and he will stand upon the earth at last. |
| Or do you think that I cannot appeal to My Father, and He will at once put at My disposal more than twelve legions of angels? | Don’t you realize that I could ask my Father for thousands of angels to protect us, and he would send them instantly? |
| My son, comply with the commandment of your father, And do not ignore the teaching of your mother. | My son, obey your father’s commands, and don’t neglect your mother’s instruction. |
| I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. | I will praise the Lord at all times. I will constantly speak his praises. |
| Acquire wisdom! Acquire understanding! Do not forget nor turn away from the words of my mouth. | Get wisdom; develop good judgment. Don’t forget my words or turn away from them. |
