This is what the Lord says: “Stop at the crossroads and look around. Ask for the old, godly way, and walk in it. Travel its path, and you will find rest for your souls. But don’t be so concerned about perishable things like food. Spend your energy seeking the eternal life that the Son of Man can give you. For God the Father has given me the seal of his approval. John 6:27	Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. Remember, you must not make any idols of silver or gold to rival me. Exodus 20:23	You shall not make gods of silver to be with me, nor shall you make for yourselves gods of gold. law idols money
Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name goes all the glory for your unfailing love and faithfulness. Psalm 115:1	Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness! love humility worship
If you obey all the decrees and commands I am giving you today, all will be well with you and your children. I am giving you these instructions so you will enjoy a long life in the land the Lord your God is giving you for all time. We have happy memories of the godly, but the name of a wicked person rots away. Proverbs 10:7	The memory of the righteous is a blessing, but the name of the wicked will rot. sin righteousness blessing
I take joy in doing your will, my God, for your instructions are written on my heart. Psalm 40:8	I delight to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart. obedience law heart
And if you do good only to those who do good to you, why should you get credit? Even sinners do that much! Luke 6:33	And if you do good to those who do good to you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. righteousness reward
Don’t be concerned for your own good but for the good of others. 1 Corinthians 10:24	Let no one seek his own good, but the good of his neighbor. selfishness love neighbor
Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil. Then you will have healing for your body and strength for your bones. Proverbs 3:7-8	Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones. awe blessing evil
O Israel, my faithless people, come home to me again, for I am merciful. I will not be angry with you forever. Jeremiah 3:12b	Return, faithless Israel, declares the Lord. I will not look on you in anger, for I am merciful, declares the Lord; I will not be angry forever. mercy anger forgiveness
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive, so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help. Psalm 86:5	For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. reliability love forgiveness
Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8	Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. desires persecution overcoming
But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:57	But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus gratitude overcoming
And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you? He requires only that you fear the Lord your God, and live in a way that pleases him, and love him and serve him with all your heart and soul. And you must always obey the Lord’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good. The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.” Psalm 32:8	I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you. encouragement understanding learning
Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace. Romans 6:14	For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace. sin grace law
The Lord will work out his plans for my life— for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me. Psalm 138:8	The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands. reliability God safety
Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world. James 4:8	Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. sin purification righteousness
Enjoy prosperity while you can, but when hard times strike, realize that both come from God. Remember that nothing is certain in this life. Ecclesiastes 7:14	In the day of prosperity be joyful, and in the day of adversity consider: God has made the one as well as the other, so that man may not find out anything that will be after him. joy life dependence
In the night I search for you; in the morning I earnestly seek you. For only when you come to judge the earth will people learn what is right. Isaiah 26:9	My soul yearns for you in the night; my spirit within me earnestly seeks you. For when your judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness. righteousness judgment learning
Remember to observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath day of rest dedicated to the Lord your God. On that day no one in your household may do any work. This includes you, your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, your livestock, and any foreigners living among you. For in six days the Lord made the heavens, the earth, the sea, and everything in them; but on the seventh day he rested. That is why the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart as holy. Exodus 20:8-11	Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. sabbath
