A gentle tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit.A wholesome tongue is a tree of life, but an undisciplined tongue crushes the spirit.
Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but that very Spirit intercedes with sighs too deep for words.In the same way, even the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with sighs that cannot be put into words.
Live by the Spirit, I say, and do not gratify the desires of the flesh.Hence, I advise you to be guided by the Spirit, so that you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.Those who live according to the flesh fix their attention on the things of the flesh, while those who live according to the Spirit set their thoughts on spiritual things.
A cheerful heart is a good medicine, but a downcast spirit dries up the bones.A cheerful heart is excellent medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!If you, then, despite your evil nature, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!
And God, who searches the heart, knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.And the one who searches hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will.
Do not lag in zeal, be ardent in spirit, serve the Lord.Do not be lacking in zeal, but serve the Lord with spiritual fervor.
For what the flesh desires is opposed to the Spirit, and what the Spirit desires is opposed to the flesh; for these are opposed to each other, to prevent you from doing what you want.For the desires of the flesh are opposed to the Spirit, and those of the Spirit are opposed to the flesh. They are in conflict with one another, so that you cannot do what you want.
Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.And take the helmet of salvation as well as the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.This is how we can be certain that we abide in him and that he abides in us: he has given us a share in his Spirit.

Well then, does God supply you with the Spirit and work miracles among you by your doing the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard?Does God give you the Spirit and work mighty deeds among you because you have kept the Law or because you believed what you have heard?
Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you?Do you not realize that you are God’s temple, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
A new heart I will give you, and a new spirit I will put within you; and I will remove from your body the heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.I will give you a new heart and place a new spirit within you.
