This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9	I hereby command you: Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. God fear encouragement

And remember, when you are being tempted, do not say, “God is tempting me.” God is never tempted to do wrong, and he never tempts anyone else. Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ. You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is good for you. You want what you don’t have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous of what others have, but you can’t get it, so you fight and wage war to take it away from them. Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it. James 4:2	You want something and do not have it; so you commit murder. And you covet something and cannot obtain it; so you engage in disputes and conflicts. You do not have, because you do not ask. sin desires prayer

Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you. Deuteronomy 31:8	It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed. following fear encouragement
Their ways are futile and foolish. They cut down a tree, and a craftsman carves an idol. They decorate it with gold and silver and then fasten it securely with hammer and nails so it won’t fall over. Their gods are like helpless scarecrows in a cucumber field! They cannot speak, and they need to be carried because they cannot walk. Do not be afraid of such gods, for they can neither harm you nor do you any good. Jeremiah 10:3-5	For the customs of the peoples are false: a tree from the forest is cut down, and worked with an ax by the hands of an artisan; people deck it with silver and gold; they fasten it with hammer and nails so that it cannot move. But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently. Romans 8:25	But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience. trust hope patience
We should help others do what is right and build them up in the Lord. Romans 15:2	Each of us must please our neighbor for the good purpose of building up the neighbor. selfishness encouragement neighbor
This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. Hebrews 4:15	For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who in every respect has been tested as we are, yet without sin. sin temptation compassion
Go and gather together all the Jews of Susa and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will do the same. And then, though it is against the law, I will go in to see the king. If I must die, I must die. But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. James 1:22	But be doers of the word, and not merely hearers who deceive themselves. obedience Word of God listening
And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption. Ephesians 4:30	And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with which you were marked with a seal for the day of redemption. Holy Spirit sadness second coming
For God is not unjust. He will not forget how hard you have worked for him and how you have shown your love to him by caring for other believers, as you still do. Hebrews 6:10	For God is not unjust; he will not overlook your work and the love that you showed for his sake in serving the saints, as you still do. righteousness work serving
Those who love your instructions have great peace and do not stumble. Psalm 119:165	Great peace have those who love your law; nothing can make them stumble. law peace
No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God. Micah 6:8	He has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? law righteousness humility
See that no one pays back evil for evil, but always try to do good to each other and to all people. 1 Thessalonians 5:15	See that none of you repays evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to all. blameless righteousness evil

Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord.
