However, now that you have been freed from sin and bound to the service of God, the benefit you receive is sanctification, and the end is eternal life. This is how we know what love is: he laid down his life for us, and we in turn must be prepared to lay down our lives for our brethren. 1 John 3:16	We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. Do not work for food that perishes but for the food that endures for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For it is on him that God the Father has set his seal. Who among you is wise and understanding? Prove by your good life that your works are done with the humility that comes from wisdom. And now it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me. The life I live now in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself up for me. We also know that the Son of God has come and given us understanding so that we can know the one who is true. And we are in the one who is true, since we are in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. 1 John 5:20	And we know that the Son of God has come, and he has given us understanding so that we can know the true God. And now we live in fellowship with the true God because we live in fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the only true God, and he is eternal life. Jesus understanding truth

Indeed, persecution will afflict all who want to lead a godly life in Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 3:12	Yes, and everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. life persecution Jesus

This is the conclusion I have reached: it is fitting for a man to eat and drink and find satisfaction in the results of his labors under the sun during the brief span of life that God has allotted him.

Even so, I have noticed one thing, at least, that is good. It is good for people to eat, drink, and enjoy their work under the sun during the short life God has given them, and to accept their lot in life.
