| And hope does not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us. | And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. |
| To the one who conquers I will give a place with me on my throne, just as I myself conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne. | To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. |

| But the one who did not know and did what deserved a beating will receive a light beating. From everyone to whom much has been given, much will be required; and from the one to whom much has been entrusted, even more will be demanded. | But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more. |
| Do not say, “Why were the former days better than these?” For it is not from wisdom that you ask this. | Say not thou, What is the cause that the former days were better than these? for thou dost not enquire wisely concerning this. |
| This means understanding that the law is laid down not for the innocent but for the lawless and disobedient, for the godless and sinful, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their father or mother, for murderers, fornicators, sodomites, slave traders, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to the sound teaching that conforms to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me. | Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine; According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust. |
| Know then in your heart that as a parent disciplines a child so the Lord your God disciplines you. | Thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so the Lord thy God chasteneth thee. |
| For freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. | Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. |
| So God blessed the seventh day and hallowed it, because on it God rested from all the work that he had done in creation. | And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. |
| Because no prophecy ever came by human will, but men and women moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God. | For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. |
| For Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes. | For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. |
| And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in the one body. And be thankful. | And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. |
| Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins. | And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. |
| These things God has revealed to us through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. | But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. |
