| اطْرَحْ عَلَى الرَّبِّ أَعْمَالَكَ فَتَثْبُتَ مَقَاصِدُكَ. | Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established. |
| اتَّكِلْ عَلَى الرَّبِّ بِكُلِّ قَلْبِكَ، وَعَلَى فِطْنَتِكَ لَا تَعْتَمِدْ. اعْرِفِ الرَّبَّ فِي كُلِّ طُرُقِكَ وَهُوَ يُقَوِّمُ سُبُلَكَ. | Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. |
| لَا تَدَعِ الرَّحْمَةَ وَالأَمَانَةَ تَتَخَلَّيَانِ عَنْكَ، بَلْ تَقَلَّدْهُمَا فِي عُنُقِكَ، وَاكْتُبْهُمَا عَلَى صَفْحَةِ قَلْبِكَ، فَتَحْظَى بِالرِّضَى وَحُسْنِ السِّيرَةِ فِي عُيُونِ اللهِ وَالنَّاسِ. | Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man. |
| مَنْ يَصْفَحْ عَنِ الذَّنْبِ يَلْتَمِسْ الْمَحَبَّةَ، وَالوَاشِي يُفَرِّقُ بَيْنَ الأَصْدِقَاءِ الْحَمِيمِينَ. | He that covereth a transgression seeketh love; but he that repeateth a matter separateth very friends. |
| النَّفْسُ السَّخِيَّةُ تَزْدَادُ ثَرَاءً، وَالْمُرْوِي يُرْوَى أَيْضاً. | The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself. |
| مَنِ اتَّبَعَ الْعَدْلَ وَالرَّحْمَةَ يَلْقَى الْحَيَاةَ وَالْحَقَّ وَالْمَجْدَ. | He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour. |
| لأَنَّ الرَّبَّ يَهَبُ الْحِكْمَةَ، وَمِنْ فَمِهِ تَتَدَفَّقُ الْمَعْرِفَةُ وَالْفَهْمُ. | For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. |
| دَرِّبِ الْوَلَدَ بِمُقْتَضَى مَوَاهِبِهِ وَطَبِيعَتِهِ، فَمَتَى شَاخَ لَا يَمِيلُ عَنْهَا. | Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. |
| كَمَا يَعْكِسُ الْمَاءُ صُورَةَ الْوَجْهِ، كَذَلِكَ يَعْكِسُ قَلْبُ الإِنْسَانِ جَوْهَرَهُ. | As in water face answereth to face, so the heart of man to man. |
| يَا ابْنِي احْفَظْ وَصَايَا أَبِيكَ وَلا تَتَجَاهَلْ شَرِيعَةَ أُمِّكَ. | My son, keep thy father's commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother. |
