Bible Verses about Greed

Those who love money will never have enough. How meaningless to think that wealth brings true happiness! One who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor one who loves abundance with its income. This too is futility.
But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction. But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap, and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge people into ruin and destruction.
Then he said, “Beware! Guard against every kind of greed. Life is not measured by how much you own.”But He said to them, “Beware, and be on your guard against every form of greed; for not even when one is affluent does his life consist of his possessions.”
For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows. For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? For what does it benefit a person to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul?
Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal.Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal.
Some people are always greedy for more, but the godly love to give! All day long he is craving, While the righteous gives and does not hold back.
Wealth from get-rich-quick schemes quickly disappears; wealth from hard work grows over time.Wealth obtained from nothing dwindles, But one who gathers by labor increases it.
We all come to the end of our lives as naked and empty-handed as on the day we were born. We can’t take our riches with us.As he came naked from his mother’s womb, so he will return as he came. He will take nothing from the fruit of his labor that he can carry in his hand.
Don’t wear yourself out trying to get rich. Be wise enough to know when to quit.Do not weary yourself to gain wealth; Stop dwelling on it.
No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money. No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.
Give me an eagerness for your laws rather than a love for money!Incline my heart to Your testimonies, And not to dishonest gain.
So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world. Therefore, treat the parts of your earthly body as dead to sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry.
Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people—none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God.Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor those habitually drunk, nor verbal abusers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.
You must not covet your neighbor’s house. You must not covet your neighbor’s wife, male or female servant, ox or donkey, or anything else that belongs to your neighbor. You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male slave, or his female slave, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.
Let there be no sexual immorality, impurity, or greed among you. Such sins have no place among God’s people. But sexual immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be mentioned among you, as is proper among saints.
Pay your taxes, too, for these same reasons. For government workers need to be paid. They are serving God in what they do.For because of this you also pay taxes, for rulers are servants of God, devoting themselves to this very thing.
