| You and I are Jews by birth, not ‘sinners’ like the Gentiles. Yet we know that a person is made right with God by faith in Jesus Christ, not by obeying the law. And we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we might be made right with God because of our faith in Christ, not because we have obeyed the law. | I ask you again, does God give you the Holy Spirit and work miracles among you because you obey the law? Of course not! | But now God has shown us a way to be made right with him without keeping the requirements of the law, as was promised in the writings of Moses and the prophets long ago. We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. | For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace. | You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace. |
| This is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should love one another. | For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. |
| The way of the Lord is a stronghold to those with integrity, but it destroys the wicked. | The way of the Lord is strength for the upright, But destruction will come to the workers of iniquity. |
| And I will put my Spirit in you so that you will follow my decrees and be careful to obey my regulations. | I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them. |
| I will never forget your commandments, for by them you give me life. | I will never forget Your precepts, For by them You have given me life. |
| Lord, we show our trust in you by obeying your laws; our heart’s desire is to glorify your name. | Yes, in the way of Your judgments, O Lord, we have waited for You; The desire of our soul is for Your name And for the remembrance of You. |
| I have rejoiced in your laws as much as in riches. | I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies, As much as in all riches. |
| But we have sinned and done wrong. We have rebelled against you and scorned your commands and regulations. | We have sinned and committed iniquity, we have done wickedly and rebelled, even by departing from Your precepts and Your judgments. |
