Bible Verses about the Father

  • The Lord is like a father to his children,
tender and compassionate to those who fear him.
  • See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know him.
  • My child, don’t reject the Lord’s discipline,
and don’t be upset when he corrects you.
For the Lord corrects those he loves,
just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights.
  • Father, I want these whom you have given me to be with me where I am. Then they can see all the glory you gave me because you loved me even before the world began!
  • But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.
  • Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?
  • Now all glory to God our Father forever and ever! Amen.
  • I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. No one can snatch them from the Father’s hand. The Father and I are one.
  • Only a fool despises a parent’s discipline;
whoever learns from correction is wise.
  • Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you.
  • But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.
  • Jesus replied, “All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them.”
  • So don’t be afraid, little flock. For it gives your Father great happiness to give you the Kingdom.
  • Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.
  • Don’t you realize that I could ask my Father for thousands of angels to protect us, and he would send them instantly?
  • What is the price of two sparrows—one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.
  • But for us,
There is one God, the Father,
by whom all things were created,
    and for whom we live.
And there is one Lord, Jesus Christ,
through whom all things were created,
    and through whom we live.
  • Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”
  • Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?
  • Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them.
  • For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are.
  • You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father.
  • For a child is born to us,
a son is given to us.
The government will rest on his shoulders.
    And he will be called:
    Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
    Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
  • No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.
  • There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?

Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father, and we will be satisfied.”
