Jesus replied, “But even more blessed are all who hear the word of God and put it into practice.” | But He said, “More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!” |
He replied, “What is impossible for people is possible with God.” | But He said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” |
But when Jesus heard what had happened, he said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid. Just have faith, and she will be healed.” | But when Jesus heard it, He answered him, saying, “Do not be afraid; only believe, and she will be made well.” |
But to you who are willing to listen, I say, love your enemies! Do good to those who hate you. Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you. | But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you. |
Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn others, or it will all come back against you. Forgive others, and you will be forgiven. | Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. |
Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back. | Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you. |
For the word of God will never fail. | For with God nothing will be impossible. |
A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say flows from what is in your heart. | A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. |
For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost. | For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost. |
So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him. | If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him! |
