| What then shall we say? Should we persist in sin in order that grace may abound? Of course not! We have died to sin. How can we live in it any longer? | What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? Far from it! How shall we who died to sin still live in it? |
| Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? | Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? |
| For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall also be united with him in his resurrection. | However, now that you have been freed from sin and bound to the service of God, the benefit you receive is sanctification, and the end is eternal life. | But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life. |
