| For as we share abundantly in Christ's sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too. | For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ. |

| For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. | So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law. |
| Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.” | Jesus replied, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit.” |
