Bible Verses about Listening

Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger.Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.
But he said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”Jesus replied, “But even more blessed are all who hear the word of God and put it into practice.”
Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come.
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.

Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you.In those days when you pray, I will listen.
I love the Lord, because he has heard my voice and my pleas for mercy. Because he inclined his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live.I love the Lord because he hears my voice and my prayer for mercy. Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath!
Whoever gives thought to the word will discover good, and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord. Those who listen to instruction will prosper; those who trust the Lord will be joyful.
Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock.
What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.
And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for.
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.
So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ. So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.
In my distress I called upon the Lord; to my God I cried for help. From his temple he heard my voice, and my cry to him reached his ears. But in my distress I cried out to the Lord; yes, I prayed to my God for help. He heard me from his sanctuary; my cry to him reached his ears.
Whoever heeds instruction is on the path to life, but he who rejects reproof leads others astray.People who accept discipline are on the pathway to life, but those who ignore correction will go astray.
My son, be attentive to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Let them not escape from your sight; keep them within your heart. My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my words. Don’t lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart.
O Lord, in the morning you hear my voice; in the morning I prepare a sacrifice for you and watch.Listen to my voice in the morning, Lord. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly.
If you will not listen, if you will not take it to heart to give honor to my name, says the Lord of hosts, then I will send the curse upon you and I will curse your blessings. Indeed, I have already cursed them, because you do not lay it to heart.“Listen to me and make up your minds to honor my name,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “or I will bring a terrible curse against you. I will curse even the blessings you receive. Indeed, I have already cursed them, because you have not taken my warning to heart.”
The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous and his ears toward their cry.The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right; his ears are open to their cries for help.

Of course not! It is because you believe the message you heard about Christ.
Therefore whatever you have said in the dark shall be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in private rooms shall be proclaimed on the housetops.Whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered behind closed doors will be shouted from the housetops for all to hear!
