You don’t need further instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. | Therefore leaving the teaching of the first principles of Christ, let’s press on to perfection—not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works, of faith toward God, of the teaching of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. |
| God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs. | Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven. |

| And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth. | This is eternal life, that they should know you, the only true God, and him whom you sent, Jesus Christ. |
