Bible Verses about the Neighbor

The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these. The second is like this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.
Finally, all of you should be of one mind. Sympathize with each other. Love each other as brothers and sisters. Be tenderhearted, and keep a humble attitude. Finally, all of you be like-minded, compassionate, loving as brothers, tenderhearted, courteous.
Don’t be concerned for your own good but for the good of others.Let no one seek his own, but each one his neighbor’s good.
So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing. Therefore exhort one another, and build each other up, even as you also do.
Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
Keep on loving each other as brothers and sisters. Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it!Let brotherly love continue. Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for in doing so, some have entertained angels without knowing it.
For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets. Therefore, whatever you desire for men to do to you, you shall also do to them; for this is the law and the prophets.
We should help others do what is right and build them up in the Lord.Let each one of us please his neighbor for that which is good, to be building him up.
Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.Doing nothing through rivalry or through conceit, but in humility, each counting others better than himself.
Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith. So then, as we have opportunity, let’s do what is good toward all men, and especially toward those who are of the household of the faith.
So let’s stop condemning each other. Decide instead to live in such a way that you will not cause another believer to stumble and fall. Therefore let’s not judge one another any more, but judge this rather, that no man put a stumbling block in his brother’s way, or an occasion for falling.
Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.Bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do.
So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also love one another.
Learn to do good. Seek justice. Help the oppressed. Defend the cause of orphans. Fight for the rights of widows.Learn to do well. Seek justice. Relieve the oppressed. Defend the fatherless. Plead for the widow.
Love does no wrong to others, so love fulfills the requirements of God’s law.Love doesn’t harm a neighbor. Love therefore is the fulfillment of the law.
You may think you can condemn such people, but you are just as bad, and you have no excuse! When you say they are wicked and should be punished, you are condemning yourself, for you who judge others do these very same things. Therefore you are without excuse, O man, whoever you are who judge. For in that which you judge another, you condemn yourself. For you who judge practice the same things.
Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins. And above all things be earnest in your love among yourselves, for love covers a multitude of sins.
And may the Lord make your love for one another and for all people grow and overflow, just as our love for you overflows.May the Lord make you to increase and abound in love toward one another and toward all men, even as we also do toward you.
For the commandments say, “You must not commit adultery. You must not murder. You must not steal. You must not covet.” These—and other such commandments—are summed up in this one commandment: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other commandments there are, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. In love of the brothers be tenderly affectionate to one another; in honor prefer one another.
One should be kind to a fainting friend, but you accuse me without any fear of the Almighty. To him who is ready to faint, kindness should be shown from his friend; even to him who forsakes the fear of the Almighty.
This is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should love one another. For this is the message which you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
In the same way, some think one day is more holy than another day, while others think every day is alike. You should each be fully convinced that whichever day you choose is acceptable. One man esteems one day as more important. Another esteems every day alike. Let each man be fully assured in his own mind.
Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.Pure religion and undefiled before our God and Father is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.

If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion—how can God’s love be in that person? But whoever has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, then closes his heart of compassion against him, how does God’s love remain in him?
