But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. And the Lord our God commanded us to obey all these decrees and to fear him so he can continue to bless us and preserve our lives, as he has done to this day. Our hearts ache, but we always have joy. We are poor, but we give spiritual riches to others. We own nothing, and yet we have everything. 2 Corinthians 6:10	As sorrowful yet always rejoicing, as poor yet making many rich, as having nothing and yet possessing all things. sadness joy money
God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important. As a result, no one can ever boast in the presence of God. 1 Corinthians 1:28-29	And the insignificant things of the world and the despised God has chosen, the things that are not, so that He may nullify the things that are, so that no human may boast before God. humility calling world
This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.” Romans 1:17	For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written: “But the righteous one will live by faith.” faith righteousness salvation
But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect. Matthew 5:48	Therefore you shall be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect. Father holiness
I praise God for what he has promised. I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me? Psalm 56:4	In God, whose word I praise, In God I have put my trust; I shall not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? trust fear Word of God
For God is not unjust. He will not forget how hard you have worked for him and how you have shown your love to him by caring for other believers, as you still do. Just as you cannot understand the path of the wind or the mystery of a tiny baby growing in its mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the activity of God, who does all things. Ecclesiastes 11:5	Just as you do not know the path of the wind, and how bones are formed in the womb of the pregnant woman, so you do not know the activity of God who makes everything. I love the Lord because he hears my voice and my prayer for mercy. Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath! No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us. 1 John 4:12	No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God remains in us, and His love is perfected in us. love God neighbor
No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us. John 1:18	No one has seen God at any time; God the only Son, who is in the arms of the Father, He has explained Him. Jesus Father nearness

We all come to the end of our lives as naked and empty-handed as on the day we were born. We can’t take our riches with us.

As he came naked from his mother’s womb, so he will return as he came. He will take nothing from the fruit of his labor that he can carry in his hand.

Bible verse of the day

So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.
