| Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful. | As for what was sown among thorns, this is the one who hears the word, but the cares of the world and the lure of wealth choke the word, and it yields nothing. |
| And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. | And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have obtained the requests made of him. |
| Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. | If another member of the church sins against you, go and point out the fault when the two of you are alone. If the member listens to you, you have regained that one. |
