When Job prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes. In fact, the Lord gave him twice as much as before!And the Lord restored the fortunes of Job, when he had prayed for his friends. And the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.
For the Lord grants wisdom! From his mouth come knowledge and understanding.For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise! No one can measure his greatness.Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable.
If you will listen carefully to the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in his sight, obeying his commands and keeping all his decrees, then I will not make you suffer any of the diseases I sent on the Egyptians; for I am the Lord who heals you.If you will diligently listen to the voice of the Lord your God, and do that which is right in his eyes, and give ear to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you that I put on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, your healer.
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever.Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever!
And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.
The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right; his ears are open to their cries for help.The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous and his ears toward their cry.
But the tax collector stood at a distance and dared not even lift his eyes to heaven as he prayed. Instead, he beat his chest in sorrow, saying, ‘O God, be merciful to me, for I am a sinner.’But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’
And God has given us his Spirit as proof that we live in him and he in us.By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.
And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
But the Lord watches over those who fear him, those who rely on his unfailing love.Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love.
By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence.
You must not covet your neighbor’s house. You must not covet your neighbor’s wife, male or female servant, ox or donkey, or anything else that belongs to your neighbor.You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his male servant, or his female servant, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor's.
And the Lord God made clothing from animal skins for Adam and his wife.And the Lord God made for Adam and for his wife garments of skins and clothed them.
The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him.As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.
What joy for the nation whose God is the Lord, whose people he has chosen as his inheritance.Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage!
Praise the Lord! How joyful are those who fear the Lord and delight in obeying his commands.Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who greatly delights in his commandments!
The husband should fulfill his wife’s sexual needs, and the wife should fulfill her husband’s needs. The wife gives authority over her body to her husband, and the husband gives authority over his body to his wife.The husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise the wife to her husband. For the wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.
I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.That according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love.
Don’t be concerned for your own good but for the good of others.Let no one seek his own good, but the good of his neighbor.
Look at the proud! They trust in themselves, and their lives are crooked. But the righteous will live by their faithfulness to God.Behold, his soul is puffed up; it is not upright within him, but the righteous shall live by his faith.
For I command you this day to love the Lord your God and to keep his commands, decrees, and regulations by walking in his ways. If you do this, you will live and multiply, and the Lord your God will bless you and the land you are about to enter and occupy.If you obey the commandments of the Lord your God that I command you today, by loving the Lord your God, by walking in his ways, and by keeping his commandments and his statutes and his rules, then you shall live and multiply, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land that you are entering to take possession of it.
All who are victorious will be clothed in white. I will never erase their names from the Book of Life, but I will announce before my Father and his angels that they are mine.The one who conquers will be clothed thus in white garments, and I will never blot his name out of the book of life. I will confess his name before my Father and before his angels.
There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.
If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give up your life for me, you will find it.Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

Understand, therefore, that the Lord your God is indeed God. He is the faithful God who keeps his covenant for a thousand generations and lavishes his unfailing love on those who love him and obey his commands.Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations.
