You shall be holy, for I, the Lord, am holy. I have chosen you from among all people that you shall be mine. | So you are to be holy to Me, for I the Lord am holy; and I have singled you out from the peoples to be Mine. |
And so now, O Israel, what does the Lord, your God, require of you but to fear the Lord, your God, to walk in all of his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord, your God, with all your heart and all your soul, and to observe the commandments and the statutes that I am giving you today for your own good. | And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and love Him, and to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the Lord’s commandments and His statutes which I am commanding you today for your good? |
For I am longing to see you so that I may bestow on you some spiritual gift to strengthen you— or, rather, so that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine. | For I long to see you so that I may impart some spiritual gift to you, that you may be established; that is, that I may be encouraged together with you while among you, each of us by the other’s faith, both yours and mine. |

If you heed the voice of the Lord, your God, and you carefully observe all of the commandments that I have given you today, then the Lord, your God, will lift you up above all the other nations upon the earth. | Now it shall be, if you diligently obey the Lord your God, being careful to do all His commandments which I am commanding you today, that the Lord your God will put you high above all the nations of the earth. |
I wait for the Lord in anxious expectation; I place my hope in his word. | I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, And I wait for His word. |

But who am I, and what are your people, that we should be able to do this? Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace but a sword. | Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. |
A word is not even on my tongue and you, O Lord, are completely aware of it. | Even before there is a word on my tongue, Behold, Lord, You know it all. |
When I realized that my foot was slipping, your kindness, O Lord, raised me up. | If I should say, “My foot has slipped,” Your faithfulness, Lord, will support me. |
You shall keep these things that I command you today in your heart. Teach them to your children.
