My son, attend to my words. Turn your ear to my sayings. Let them not depart from your eyes. Keep them in the center of your heart. | My child, be attentive to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them escape from your sight; keep them within your heart. |
My times are in your hand. Deliver me from the hand of my enemies, and from those who persecute me. | My times are in your hand; deliver me from the hand of my enemies and persecutors. |
Yahweh, the Lord, is my strength. He makes my feet like deer’s feet, and enables me to go in high places. | God, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, and makes me tread upon the heights. |
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.” | You who live in the shelter of the Most High, who abide in the shadow of the Almighty, will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.” |
But I will sing of your strength. Yes, I will sing aloud of your loving kindness in the morning. For you have been my high tower, a refuge in the day of my distress. | But I will sing of your might; I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning. For you have been a fortress for me and a refuge in the day of my distress. |
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. | Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. |
Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, then you shall be my own possession from among all peoples; for all the earth is mine. | Now therefore, if you obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession out of all the peoples. Indeed, the whole earth is mine. |
Rejoice in the Lord always! Again I will say, “Rejoice!” | Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. |
For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul. | I will satisfy the weary, and all who are faint I will replenish. |
Yahweh, in the morning you will hear my voice. In the morning I will lay my requests before you, and will watch expectantly. | O Lord, in the morning you hear my voice; in the morning I plead my case to you, and watch. |
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. | For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. |
Jesus therefore answered them, “My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me.” | Then Jesus answered them, “My teaching is not mine but his who sent me.” |
Out of the depths I have cried to you, Yahweh. Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my petitions. | Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord. Lord, hear my voice! Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications! |
When I am afraid, I will put my trust in you. | When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. |
I wait for Yahweh. My soul waits. I hope in his word. | I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I hope. |
Praise Yahweh, my soul! All that is within me, praise his holy name! | Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name. |
I will multiply your offspring as the stars of the sky, and will give all these lands to your offspring. In your offspring all the nations of the earth will be blessed, because Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my requirements, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws. | I will make your offspring as numerous as the stars of heaven, and will give to your offspring all these lands; and all the nations of the earth shall gain blessing for themselves through your offspring, because Abraham obeyed my voice and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws. |
I am Yahweh your God. Walk in my statutes, keep my ordinances, and do them. Make my Sabbaths holy. They shall be a sign between me and you, that you may know that I am Yahweh your God. | I the Lord am your God; follow my statutes, and be careful to observe my ordinances, and hallow my sabbaths that they may be a sign between me and you, so that you may know that I the Lord am your God. |
Have mercy on me, God, according to your loving kindness. According to the multitude of your tender mercies, blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity. Cleanse me from my sin. | Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. |
Yahweh, you have searched me, and you know me. You know my sitting down and my rising up. You perceive my thoughts from afar. | O Lord, you have searched me and known me. You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from far away. |
If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. | If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. |

He who overcomes, I will give to him to sit down with me on my throne, as I also overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne. | To the one who conquers I will give a place with me on my throne, just as I myself conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne. |
I will sing to Yahweh as long as I live. I will sing praise to my God while I have any being. | I will sing to the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have being. |
He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me. | But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.” So, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. |
