Proverbs 31:25–26 (6/6)

Never abandon a friend— either yours or your father’s. When disaster strikes, you won’t have to ask your brother for assistance. It’s better to go to a neighbor than to a brother who lives far away.Do not forsake your friend and your father's friend, and do not go to your brother's house in the day of your calamity. Better is a neighbor who is near than a brother who is far away.
A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences. The prudent sees danger and hides himself, but the simple go on and suffer for it.
As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.
As a face is reflected in water, so the heart reflects the real person. As in water face reflects face, so the heart of man reflects the man.
God detests the prayers of a person who ignores the law.If one turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination.
People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy.Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.
Fools vent their anger, but the wise quietly hold it back.A fool gives full vent to his spirit, but a wise man quietly holds it back.
Pride ends in humiliation, while humility brings honor. One's pride will bring him low, but he who is lowly in spirit will obtain honor.
Fearing people is a dangerous trap, but trusting the Lord means safety. The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe.
Every word of God proves true. He is a shield to all who come to him for protection.Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.
First, help me never to tell a lie. Second, give me neither poverty nor riches! Give me just enough to satisfy my needs.Remove far from me falsehood and lying; give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with the food that is needful for me.
