| Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, But those who deal faithfully are His delight. | The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in those who tell the truth. |
| For You bless the righteous person, Lord, You surround him with favor as with a shield. | For you bless the godly, O Lord; you surround them with your shield of love. |
| So having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now proclaiming to mankind that all people everywhere are to repent. | God overlooked people’s ignorance about these things in earlier times, but now he commands everyone everywhere to repent of their sins and turn to him. |
| Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, On those who wait for His faithfulness. | But the Lord watches over those who fear him, those who rely on his unfailing love. |
| It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery. | So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law. |

Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. |
