For unto us a child is born (3/4)

Who, though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God as something to be exploited, but emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, being born in human likeness. And being found in human form, he humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death— even death on a cross.Who, existing in the form of God, didn’t consider equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to the point of death, yes, the death of the cross.
All this took place to fulfill what had been spoken by the Lord through the prophet: “Look, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall name him Emmanuel,” which means, “God is with us.”Now all this has happened that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall give birth to a son. They shall call his name Immanuel,” which is, being interpreted, “God with us.”
What then are we to say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us?What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
For your steadfast love is as high as the heavens; your faithfulness extends to the clouds.For your great loving kindness reaches to the heavens, and your truth to the skies.

Just as you do not know how the breath comes to the bones in the mother's womb, so you do not know the work of God, who makes everything.As you don’t know what is the way of the wind, nor how the bones grow in the womb of her who is with child; even so you don’t know the work of God who does all.

Rend your hearts and not your clothing. Indeed, rarely will anyone die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person someone might actually dare to die. But God proves his love for us in that while we still were sinners Christ died for us.For one will hardly die for a righteous man. Yet perhaps for a good person someone would even dare to die. But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
The Lord our God be with us, as he was with our ancestors; may he not leave us or abandon us.May Yahweh our God be with us as he was with our fathers. Let him not leave us or forsake us.
The end of all things is near; therefore be serious and discipline yourselves for the sake of your prayers.But the end of all things is near. Therefore be of sound mind, self-controlled, and sober in prayer.
You shall not abuse any widow or orphan. If you do abuse them, when they cry out to me, I will surely heed their cry; my wrath will burn, and I will kill you with the sword, and your wives shall become widows and your children orphans.You shall not take advantage of any widow or fatherless child. If you take advantage of them at all, and they cry at all to me, I will surely hear their cry; and my wrath will grow hot, and I will kill you with the sword; and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.
