- For the Lord gives wisdom;
from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. - Be careful then how you live, not as unwise people but as wise, making the most of the time, because the days are evil.
- If any of you is lacking in wisdom, ask God, who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly, and it will be given you.
- But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without a trace of partiality or hypocrisy.
- How much better to get wisdom than gold!
To get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver. - Do not say, “Why were the former days better than these?”
For it is not from wisdom that you ask this. - Conduct yourselves wisely toward outsiders, making the most of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer everyone.
- By insolence the heedless make strife,
but wisdom is with those who take advice. - To get wisdom is to love oneself;
to keep understanding is to prosper. - Do not deceive yourselves. If you think that you are wise in this age, you should become fools so that you may become wise.
- Those who guard their mouths preserve their lives;
those who open wide their lips come to ruin. - Who is wise and understanding among you? Show by your good life that your works are done with gentleness born of wisdom.
- So teach us to count our days
that we may gain a wise heart. - Everyone then who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock.
- The fear of the Lord is instruction in wisdom,
and humility goes before honor. - When pride comes, then comes disgrace;
but wisdom is with the humble. - For whoever finds me finds life
and obtains favor from the Lord. - For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
nor are your ways my ways, says the Lord. - A fool takes no pleasure in understanding,
but only in expressing personal opinion. - I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation as you come to know him.
- The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom,
and whatever else you get, get insight. - The wise of heart will heed commandments,
but a babbling fool will come to ruin. - This also comes from the Lord of hosts;
he is wonderful in counsel,
and excellent in wisdom. - To you, O God of my ancestors,
I give thanks and praise,
for you have given me wisdom and power,
and have now revealed to me what we asked of you,
for you have revealed to us what the king ordered. - Have you not known? Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He does not faint or grow weary;
his understanding is unsearchable.
Even fools who keep silent are considered wise;
when they close their lips, they are deemed intelligent.Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts,
he is the King of glory. Selah Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.Next verse!With image
