- Even fools who keep silent are considered wise;
when they close their lips, they are deemed intelligent. - Whoever is slow to anger has great understanding,
but one who has a hasty temper exalts folly. - Happy are those who find wisdom,
and those who get understanding. - For in much wisdom is much vexation,
and those who increase knowledge increase sorrow. - The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;

but the lips of fools consume them. - I want their hearts to be encouraged and united in love, so that they may have all the riches of assured understanding and have the knowledge of God's mystery, that is, Christ himself.
- Some judge one day to be better than another, while others judge all days to be alike. Let all be fully convinced in their own minds.
- The law of the Lord is perfect,
reviving the soul;
the decrees of the Lord are sure,
making wise the simple. - My child, if your heart is wise,
my heart too will be glad. - With their mouths the godless would destroy their neighbors,
but by knowledge the righteous are delivered. - A fool gives full vent to anger,
but the wise quietly holds it back. - A fool's lips bring strife,
and a fool's mouth invites a flogging. - Fools show their anger at once,
but the prudent ignore an insult. - The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice;
he who begets a wise son will be glad in him. - Give heed to my reproof;
I will pour out my thoughts to you;
I will make my words known to you. - Many shall be purified, cleansed, and refined, but the wicked shall continue to act wickedly. None of the wicked shall understand, but those who are wise shall understand.
- A wise child makes a glad father,
but a foolish child is a mother's grief.
