Fruit of the spirit (3/4)

And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness. And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
We have happy memories of the godly, but the name of a wicked person rots away. The memory of the righteous is a blessing, but the name of the wicked will rot.
For the word of the Lord holds true, and we can trust everything he does. For the word of the Lord is upright, and all his work is done in faithfulness.
Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the Lord.Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the Lord!
The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences.Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.
No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit. For who knows a person's thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
Until at last the Spirit is poured out on us from heaven. Then the wilderness will become a fertile field, and the fertile field will yield bountiful crops.Until the Spirit is poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field, and the fruitful field is deemed a forest.
True humility and fear of the Lord lead to riches, honor, and long life. The reward for humility and fear of the Lord is riches and honor and life.
The high and lofty one who lives in eternity, the Holy One, says this: “I live in the high and holy place with those whose spirits are contrite and humble. I restore the crushed spirit of the humble and revive the courage of those with repentant hearts.”For thus says the One who is high and lifted up, who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly, and to revive the heart of the contrite.”
The blessing of the Lord makes a person rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.The blessing of the Lord makes rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.
The words of the godly are like sterling silver; the heart of a fool is worthless. The tongue of the righteous is choice silver; the heart of the wicked is of little worth.
The seed that fell among the thorns represents those who hear God’s word, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the worries of this life and the lure of wealth, so no fruit is produced. As for what was sown among thorns, this is the one who hears the word, but the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and it proves unfruitful.
The hopes of the godly result in happiness, but the expectations of the wicked come to nothing. The hope of the righteous brings joy, but the expectation of the wicked will perish.
Yet I am confident I will see the Lord’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living.I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living!
The godly are showered with blessings; the words of the wicked conceal violent intentions.Blessings are on the head of the righteous, but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence.
But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.
One should be kind to a fainting friend, but you accuse me without any fear of the Almighty. He who withholds kindness from a friend forsakes the fear of the Almighty.
The name of the Lord is a strong fortress; the godly run to him and are safe. The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.
Fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom. Knowledge of the Holy One results in good judgment. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.
Fear of the Lord teaches wisdom; humility precedes honor. The fear of the Lord is instruction in wisdom, and humility comes before honor.
Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right; his ears are open to their cries for help. The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous and his ears toward their cry.
The lips of the godly speak helpful words, but the mouth of the wicked speaks perverse words. The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, but the mouth of the wicked, what is perverse.
But consider the joy of those corrected by God! Do not despise the discipline of the Almighty when you sin.Behold, blessed is the one whom God reproves; therefore despise not the discipline of the Almighty.
And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.

So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.”For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”
