Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent.I reprove and discipline all those whom I love. Therefore, be sincere in your desire to repent.
Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.Dear children, let us love not in word or speech but in deed and truth.

Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in you.O Lord, let your kindness rest upon us, for we have placed our hope in you.

By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.This is how we know what love is: he laid down his life for us, and we in turn must be prepared to lay down our lives for our brethren.
