| You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name. | You didn’t choose me, but I chose you and appointed you, that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain; that whatever you will ask of the Father in my name, he may give it to you. |

It is this Good News that saves you if you continue to believe the message I told you—unless, of course, you believed something that was never true in the first place. | Now I declare to you, brothers, the Good News which I preached to you, which also you received, in which you also stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold firmly the word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. |
| Come and listen to my counsel. I’ll share my heart with you and make you wise. | Turn at my reproof. Behold, I will pour out my spirit on you. I will make known my words to you. |

| When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. | For I long to visit you so I can bring you some spiritual gift that will help you grow strong in the Lord. When we get together, I want to encourage you in your faith, but I also want to be encouraged by yours. | For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, to the end that you may be established; that is, that I with you may be encouraged in you, each of us by the other’s faith, both yours and mine. |
| If you had really known me, you would know who my Father is. From now on, you do know him and have seen him! | If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on, you know him and have seen him. |
| You may think you can condemn such people, but you are just as bad, and you have no excuse! When you say they are wicked and should be punished, you are condemning yourself, for you who judge others do these very same things. | Therefore you are without excuse, O man, whoever you are who judge. For in that which you judge another, you condemn yourself. For you who judge practice the same things. |
| I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow! | I have spoken these things to you, that my joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be made full. |
