But the Scriptures declare that we are all prisoners of sin, so we receive God’s promise of freedom only by believing in Jesus Christ. Galatians 3:22	But the Scripture has confined everyone under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. trust faith promises
For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and evil of every kind. James 3:16	For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing. selfishness evil
Suppose you sin by violating one of the Lord’s commands. Even if you are unaware of what you have done, you are guilty and will be punished for your sin. Leviticus 5:17	Now if a person sins and does any of the things which the Lord has commanded not to be done, though he was unaware, he is still guilty and shall bear his punishment. law punishment
Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace. Romans 6:14	For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under the Law but under grace. grace law

But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. The way of the Lord is a stronghold to those with integrity, but it destroys the wicked. Proverbs 10:29	The way of the Lord is a stronghold for the upright, But ruin to the workers of injustice. reliability law
But if wicked people turn away from all their sins and begin to obey my decrees and do what is just and right, they will surely live and not die. Finally, I confessed all my sins to you and stopped trying to hide my guilt. I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the Lord.” And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone. Keep the commandments and keep your life; despising them leads to death. Proverbs 19:16	One who keeps the commandment keeps his soul, But one who is careless of conduct will die. law eternal life
So then, since Christ suffered physical pain, you must arm yourselves with the same attitude he had, and be ready to suffer, too. For if you have suffered physically for Christ, you have finished with sin. 1 Peter 4:1	Therefore, since Christ has suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same purpose, because the one who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin. suffering
Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God. You want what you don’t have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous of what others have, but you can’t get it, so you fight and wage war to take it away from them. Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it. James 4:2	You lust and do not have, so you commit murder. And you are envious and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. I have swept away your sins like a cloud. I have scattered your offenses like the morning mist. Oh, return to me, for I have paid the price to set you free. This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. 1 John 4:10	In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. love Savior reconciliation

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. Hebrews 12:1	Therefore, since we also have such a great cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let’s rid ourselves of every obstacle and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let’s run with endurance the race that is set before us. life overcoming

A single day in your courts is better than a thousand anywhere else! I would rather be a gatekeeper in the house of my God than live the good life in the homes of the wicked.

For a day in Your courtyards is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God Than live in the tents of wickedness.
