The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences. | Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit. |
A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. Indeed, we all make many mistakes. For if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way. | For we all stumble in many ways. If anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to rein in the whole body as well. |
Wise words bring approval, but fools are destroyed by their own words. | Words from the mouth of a wise person are gracious, while the lips of a fool consume him. |

If another believer sins against you, go privately and point out the offense. If the other person listens and confesses it, you have won that person back. | Now if your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private; if he listens to you, you have gained your brother. |

Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone. | Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity. Your speech must always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person. |
If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. | That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. |
Plans go wrong for lack of advice; many advisers bring success. | Without consultation, plans are frustrated, But with many counselors they succeed. |
And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. | Now in the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. |
