Moses remained there on the mountain with the Lord forty days and forty nights. In all that time he ate no bread and drank no water. And the Lord wrote the terms of the covenant—the Ten Commandments—on the stone tablets. Exodus 34:28	He was there with Yahweh forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread, nor drank water. Those who believed what Peter said were baptized and added to the church that day—about 3,000 in all. Acts 2:41	Then those who gladly received his word were baptized. There were added that day about three thousand souls. faith baptism church

Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled. Romans 15:4	For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that through perseverance and through encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. encouragement hope
