Even a fool is counted wise when he holds his peace; When he shuts his lips, he is considered perceptive.Even fools are thought wise when they keep silent; with their mouths shut, they seem intelligent.
He who is slow to wrath has great understanding, But he who is impulsive exalts folly.People with understanding control their anger; a hot temper shows great foolishness.
For in much wisdom is much grief, And he who increases knowledge increases sorrow.The greater my wisdom, the greater my grief. To increase knowledge only increases sorrow.
Happy is the man who finds wisdom, And the man who gains understanding.Joyful is the person who finds wisdom, the one who gains understanding.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction.Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.

I have taught you in the way of wisdom; I have led you in right paths.I will teach you wisdom’s ways and lead you in straight paths.
Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways!
He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will be destroyed.Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble.

The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.The instructions of the Lord are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.

The hypocrite with his mouth destroys his neighbor, But through knowledge the righteous will be delivered.With their words, the godless destroy their friends, but knowledge will rescue the righteous.

Many shall be purified, made white, and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand.Many will be purified, cleansed, and refined by these trials. But the wicked will continue in their wickedness, and none of them will understand. Only those who are wise will know what it means.
A fool despises his father’s instruction, But he who receives correction is prudent.Only a fool despises a parent’s discipline; whoever learns from correction is wise.

A wise son makes a glad father, But a foolish son is the grief of his mother.A wise child brings joy to a father; a foolish child brings grief to a mother.
