Then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptation and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment.

Therefore, the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from their trials and to hold the wicked for punishment until the Day of Judgment.

Finally, brothers, rejoice! Be perfected. Be comforted. Be of the same mind. Live in peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you.
