Bible Verses about the Body

Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have received from God, and that you are not your own? You have been purchased at a price. Therefore, glorify God in your body.Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
For just as in one body we have many parts, and the parts do not all have the same function, so we, though many, make up one body in Christ, and individually we are all parts of one another. For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.
You created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am wonderfully made; awesome are your works, as I know very well. For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.
Even should my heart and my flesh fail, God is the rock of my heart and my portion forever. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
Banish grief from your heart and ignore the sufferings of your body, for youth and the prime of life are fleeting.Remove vexation from your heart, and put away pain from your body, for youth and the dawn of life are vanity.
A cheerful heart is excellent medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
Stay awake and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit is indeed willing, but the flesh is weak.Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
And let the peace of Christ reign in your hearts, because it was for this that you were called together in one body. Always be thankful. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.
Do not pride yourself on your own wisdom; fear the Lord and turn your back on evil. This will provide healing for your flesh and restore strength to your body.Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones.
Pleasing words are like a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and affording health to the body.Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body.
While physical training has some value, the benefits of godliness are unlimited, since it holds out promise not only for this life but also for the life to come. For while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.
Therefore, we do not lose heart. Even though our outer self is continuing to decay, our inner self is being renewed day by day.So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.
Rather, I discipline my body and bring it under control, for fear that after preaching to others I myself may be disqualified. But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.
Therefore, heed my words. Do not be concerned about your life and what you will have to eat or drink, or about your body and what you will wear. Surely life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing. Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
There is one body and one Spirit, as well as one hope to which you have been called by your vocation. There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call.
The body is one, although it has many parts; and all the parts, though many, form one body. So it is with Christ. For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.
Have no fear of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, fear the one who can destroy both soul and body in Gehenna. And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
For all of us fall short in many ways. Anyone who never makes a mistake in speech has reached perfection and is able to control every part of his body. For we all stumble in many ways. And if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle his whole body.
O God, you are my God, for whom I have been searching earnestly. My soul yearns for you and my body thirsts for you, like the earth when it is parched, arid and without water.O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
Do not be concerned about your life and what you will have to eat, or about your body and what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing.Do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing.
Now we know that if the earthly tent in which we live is destroyed, we have a dwelling prepared for us by God, a dwelling in the heavens, not made with human hands, that will be eternal. For we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
The Lord God then formed a woman out of the rib that he had taken from the man. He brought her before the man. The man said, “This one is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh. She shall be called woman because she was taken from man.” This is why a man leaves his father and his mother and joins with a wife, and the two become one flesh. And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man. Then the man said, “This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.” Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. It is preferable for you to lose one part of your body than to have your whole body thrown into Gehenna. If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body be thrown into hell.
A husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise a wife should fulfill her conjugal obligations to her husband. For a wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise, a husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. The husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise the wife to her husband. For the wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.
For in the one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, Jews as well as Greeks, slaves as well as free men, and we were all given the same Spirit to drink. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit.

If I give away everything to feed the poor and hand over my body to be burned, but do not have love, I achieve nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.
