Hebrews - ESV & NLT

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.
Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.
And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.
And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.
So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?”
Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord.
Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.”
For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening—it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way.
