If anyone is rich in worldly possessions and sees a brother in need but refuses to open his heart, how can the love of God abide in him? 1 John 3:17	But whoever has worldly goods and sees his brother or sister in need, and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God remain in him? money compassion love
Thus says the Lord of hosts: Render fair judgments, and show kindness and compassion to one another. Do not oppress the widow, the orphan, the alien, or the poor. Do not plot evil in your heart against one another. And if one should fall, his companion will help him up. How pathetic is the man who is alone and falls and has no one to assist him to his feet. Ecclesiastes 4:10	For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up! relationships friendship
This is how we know what love is: he laid down his life for us, and we in turn must be prepared to lay down our lives for our brethren. 1 John 3:16	We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers and sisters. love Jesus

Do not forsake your friend or the friend of your father, and do not run to your brother’s house when troubles befall you; far better is a friend nearby than a brother who is far away. Proverbs 27:10	Do not abandon your friend or your father’s friend, And do not go to your brother’s house on the day of your disaster; Better is a neighbor who is near than a brother far away. friendship family

Take care, brethren, that none of you will ever have an evil and unbelieving heart that will cause you to forsake the living God. Hebrews 3:12	Take care, brothers and sisters, that there will not be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart that falls away from the living God. anger evil heart
Give proper consideration to those widows who are truly in need. 1 Timothy 5:3	Honor widows who are actually widows. community widows
He said to them in reply, “Anyone who has two coats must share with the person who has none, and whoever has food must do likewise.” Luke 3:11	And he would answer and say to them, “The one who has two tunics is to share with the one who has none; and the one who has food is to do likewise.” materialism giving poverty
Grant justice to the weak and the orphan; defend the rights of the lowly and the poor. Psalm 82:3	Vindicate the weak and fatherless; Do justice to the afflicted and destitute. orphans righteousness weakness
So if I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. John 13:14	So if I, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. humility serving Jesus
There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save or to destroy. Who then are you to pass judgment on a neighbor? James 4:12	There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the One who is able to save and to destroy; but who are you, judging your neighbor? law judgment salvation
This must not be so with you. Instead, whoever wishes to be great among you must be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you must be your servant. Matthew 20:26-27	It is not this way among you, but whoever wants to become prominent among you shall be your servant, and whoever desires to be first among you shall be your slave. humility serving slavery
Then I came to realize that all toil and skill in work derive from one person’s envy of another. This also is vanity and a chase after the wind. Ecclesiastes 4:4	I have seen that every labor and every skill which is done is the result of rivalry between a person and his neighbor. This too is futility and striving after wind. work desires materialism
While Peter was thus imprisoned, the Church prayed fervently to God for him. Acts 12:5	So Peter was kept in the prison, but prayer for him was being made to God intensely by the church. prayer dependence community

And ‘to love him with all your heart, and with all your understanding, and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself,’ is worth more than any burnt offerings and sacrifices.

And to love Him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, is much more than all the burnt offerings and sacrifices.
