Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say: Rejoice! | Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! |
Let your kindness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. | Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. |
Do not worry about anything, but present your needs to God in prayer and petition, with thanksgiving. Then the peace of God, which is beyond all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. | Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. |
Finally, brethren, let your minds be filled with whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, whatever is excellent, whatever is worthy of praise. | Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. |
Do the things that you have learned, received, and heard from me and that you saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you. | The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you. |
I do not say this because I have been in need, for I have learned to be content with whatever I have. | Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content. |
I know how to live with little, and I know how to live with plenty. In any and all circumstances, I have learned the secret of being well fed and of going hungry, of having plenty and of being in need. | I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. |
I can do all things in him who strengthens me. | I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. |
And my God will fully supply all your needs out of the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. | And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. |
To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen. | Now to our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen. |
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. | The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. |
