When pride comes, then comes dishonor; But with the humble there is wisdom.When pride comes, then comes disgrace; but wisdom is with the humble.
The integrity of the upright will guide them, But the perversity of the treacherous will destroy them.The integrity of the upright guides them, but the crookedness of the treacherous destroys them.
Riches do not benefit on the day of wrath, But righteousness rescues from death.Riches do not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.
With his mouth the godless person destroys his neighbor, But through knowledge the righteous will be rescued.With their mouths the godless would destroy their neighbors, but by knowledge the righteous are delivered.
One who goes about as a slanderer reveals secrets, But one who is trustworthy conceals a matter.A gossip goes about telling secrets, but one who is trustworthy in spirit keeps a confidence.
A wicked person earns deceptive wages, But one who sows righteousness gets a true reward.The wicked earn no real gain, but those who sow righteousness get a true reward.
A generous person will be prosperous, And one who gives others plenty of water will himself be given plenty.A generous person will be enriched, and one who gives water will get water.
