| Then Peter addressed them: “I now understand how true it is that God has no favorites, but that in every nation all those who fear God and do what is right are acceptable to him.” | Opening his mouth, Peter said: “I most certainly understand now that God is not one to show partiality, but in every nation the one who fears Him and does what is right is acceptable to Him.” |
| Let those who are wise understand these words, and let the prudent acknowledge them. For straight are the ways of the Lord; the upright walk in them, but sinners stumble. | Whoever is wise, let him understand these things; Whoever is discerning, let him know them. For the ways of the Lord are right, And the righteous will walk in them, But wrongdoers will stumble in them. |
| The righteous is remembered with blessings, but the name of the wicked fades away. | The mentioning of the righteous is a blessing, But the name of the wicked will rot. |
| The hope of the righteous brings them joy, but the expectations of the wicked are frustrated. | The hope of the righteous is gladness, But the expectation of the wicked perishes. |
| Train a child in the way he should go, and he will not deviate from it, even in old age. | Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he grows older he will not abandon it. |
| I have instructed you in the ways of wisdom and led you along the paths of righteousness. | I have instructed you in the way of wisdom; I have led you in upright paths. |
| As we proceed in the path of your judgments, we wait for you, O Lord; your name and your renown are all that our heart desires. | Indeed, while following the way of Your judgments, Lord, We have waited for You eagerly; Your name, and remembering You, is the desire of our souls. |
| He is a rock, his deeds are perfect, and all of his ways are just. He is a God of truth who does no wrong; he is just and upright. | The Rock! His work is perfect, For all His ways are just; A God of faithfulness and without injustice, Righteous and just is He. |
