Enjoy prosperity while you can, but when hard times strike, realize that both come from God. Remember that nothing is certain in this life. And because Joseph was a descendant of King David, he had to go to Bethlehem in Judea, David’s ancient home. He traveled there from the village of Nazareth in Galilee. Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them. Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, he kept giving the bread and fish to the disciples so they could distribute it to the people. If the person still refuses to listen, take your case to the church. Then if he or she won’t accept the church’s decision, treat that person as a pagan or a corrupt tax collector. I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified. 1 Corinthians 9:27	But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified. self-control judgment body
Do not deprive each other of sexual relations, unless you both agree to refrain from sexual intimacy for a limited time so you can give yourselves more completely to prayer. Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. Romans 12:12	Rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer. joy prayer patience
Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled. Romans 15:4	For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope. Word of God encouragement hope
Worry weighs a person down; an encouraging word cheers a person up. Proverbs 12:25	Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, But a good word makes it glad. speaking worrying heart
What sorrow awaits those who argue with their Creator. Does a clay pot argue with its maker? Does the clay dispute with the one who shapes it, saying, ‘Stop, you’re doing it wrong!’ Does the pot exclaim, ‘How clumsy can you be?’ Isaiah 45:9	Woe to him who strives with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth! Shall the clay say to him who forms it, ‘What are you making?’ Or shall your handiwork say, ‘He has no hands’? creation humility understanding
