How I kept back nothing that was helpful, but proclaimed it to you, and taught you publicly and from house to house. | I never shrank back from telling you what you needed to hear, either publicly or in your homes. |
Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. | There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. |
For in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’ | For in him we live and move and exist. As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’ |
To you first, God, having raised up His Servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your iniquities. | When God raised up his servant, Jesus, he sent him first to you people of Israel, to bless you by turning each of you back from your sinful ways. |
