| This is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should love one another. | For this is the message which you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. |
| But the one who endures to the end will be saved. | But he who endures to the end will be saved. |
| If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. | For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up. |
| You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror. | You believe that God is one. You do well. The demons also believe—and shudder. |
| In the same way, there is joy in the presence of God’s angels when even one sinner repents. | Even so, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner repenting. |

And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. | Let’s consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. |
| I’m not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one. | I pray not that you would take them from the world, but that you would keep them from the evil one. |
| For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” | For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” |
| And don’t let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one. | Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen. |
| See that no one pays back evil for evil, but always try to do good to each other and to all people. | See that no one returns evil for evil to anyone, but always follow after that which is good for one another and for all. |
