Avoid evil (3/4)

Therefore remove sorrow from your heart, And put away evil from your flesh, For childhood and youth are vanity.So remove sorrow from your heart and keep pain away from your body, because childhood and the prime of life are fleeting.

They are like a scarecrow in a cucumber field, And they cannot speak; They must be carried, Because they cannot walk! Do not fear them, For they can do no harm, Nor can they do any good.
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.Therefore, ridding yourselves of all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls.
The wicked man does deceptive work, But he who sows righteousness will have a sure reward.A wicked person earns deceptive wages, But one who sows righteousness gets a true reward.
Surely he will never be shaken; The righteous will be in everlasting remembrance.For he will never be shaken; The righteous will be remembered forever.
Many shall be purified, made white, and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand.Many will be purged, cleansed, and refined, but the wicked will act wickedly; and none of the wicked will understand, but those who have insight will understand.
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.For whoever has been born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world: our faith.
The way of the Lord is strength for the upright, But destruction will come to the workers of iniquity.The way of the Lord is a stronghold for the upright, But ruin to the workers of injustice.

Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.Let no unwholesome word come out of your mouth, but if there is any good word for edification according to the need of the moment, say that, so that it will give grace to those who hear.

A little that a righteous man has Is better than the riches of many wicked. For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, But the Lord upholds the righteous.Better is the little of the righteous Than the abundance of many wicked. For the arms of the wicked will be broken, But the Lord sustains the righteous.
