The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.
And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you? He requires only that you fear the Lord your God, and live in a way that pleases him, and love him and serve him with all your heart and soul. And you must always obey the Lord’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good.And so now, O Israel, what does the Lord, your God, require of you but to fear the Lord, your God, to walk in all of his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord, your God, with all your heart and all your soul, and to observe the commandments and the statutes that I am giving you today for your own good.
Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true wisdom. All who obey his commandments will grow in wisdom. Praise him forever!The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; those who are guided by it will grow in understanding. His praise will last forever.
Those who obey God’s commandments remain in fellowship with him, and he with them. And we know he lives in us because the Spirit he gave us lives in us.All those who keep his commandments abide in him, and he abides in them. And the proof that he abides in us is the Spirit that he has given us.
I will hurry, without delay, to obey your commands.I will make haste and not delay to observe your precepts.
Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them.Anyone who has received my commandments and observes them is the one who loves me. And whoever loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and reveal myself to him.
But the love of the Lord remains forever with those who fear him. His salvation extends to the children’s children of those who are faithful to his covenant, of those who obey his commandments!But from everlasting to everlasting the kindness of the Lord is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children, with those who keep his covenant and diligently observe his commandments.
You have heard the commandment that says, ‘You must not commit adultery.’ But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart.You have heard that it was said of old: ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that anyone who looks with lust at a woman has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
Moses remained there on the mountain with the Lord forty days and forty nights. In all that time he ate no bread and drank no water. And the Lord wrote the terms of the covenant—the Ten Commandments—on the stone tablets.Moses remained with the Lord for forty days and forty nights without eating bread or drinking water. And he wrote the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments, on the tablets.
And the Lord our God commanded us to obey all these decrees and to fear him so he can continue to bless us and preserve our lives, as he has done to this day.The Lord commanded us to observe all of these statutes and to fear the Lord, our God, so that we might always prosper and be kept alive, even as we are today.
Stay on the path that the Lord your God has commanded you to follow. Then you will live long and prosperous lives in the land you are about to enter and occupy.Continue in all of the ways that the Lord, your God, has commanded you. Continue in them so that you may live and prosper and that you may long dwell on the land of your inheritance.
I have tried hard to find you— don’t let me wander from your commands.I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your precepts.
So if you ignore the least commandment and teach others to do the same, you will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But anyone who obeys God’s laws and teaches them will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.Therefore, whoever breaks even one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be considered least in the kingdom of heaven. But whoever observes these commandments and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Remember that you were once slaves in Egypt, but the Lord your God brought you out with his strong hand and powerful arm. That is why the Lord your God has commanded you to rest on the Sabbath day.Remember that you were once a slave in the land of Egypt. The Lord, your God, brought you out from there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore, the Lord, your God, has commanded you to observe the Sabbath day.
So obey the commands of the Lord your God by walking in his ways and fearing him.Therefore, observe the commandments of the Lord, your God. Walk in his ways and fear him.
I have not departed from his commands, but have treasured his words more than daily food.I have not strayed from the commandments of his lips; I have treasured in my heart the words of his mouth.
Praise the Lord! How joyful are those who fear the Lord and delight in obeying his commands.Alleluia. Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who greatly delights in his precepts.
You must faithfully keep all my commands by putting them into practice, for I am the Lord.You shall observe my commandments and obey them. I am the Lord.
For we will be counted as righteous when we obey all the commands the Lord our God has given us.If we are diligent in observing all of these commandments before the Lord, our God, as he commanded of us, then this will be our righteousness.
But we have sinned and done wrong. We have rebelled against you and scorned your commands and regulations.We have sinned and done what is wrong, we have acted wickedly and rebelled, we have rejected your commandments and your laws.
But be very careful to obey all the commands and the instructions that Moses gave to you. Love the Lord your God, walk in all his ways, obey his commands, hold firmly to him, and serve him with all your heart and all your soul.Take heed to follow the commandments and the laws that Moses, the servant of the Lord, gave you: to love the Lord, your God, and to walk in his ways and to observe his commandments, holding fast to him and serving him with all your heart and all your soul.
You must diligently obey the commands of the Lord your God—all the laws and decrees he has given you.You shall take heed to observe the commandments of the Lord, your God, and the decrees and statutes that he has given to you.
Serve only the Lord your God and fear him alone. Obey his commands, listen to his voice, and cling to him.It is the Lord, your God, whom you are to follow. You must fear him and observe his commandments and obey what he tells you and serve him and hold fast to him.
For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are.For no one can be regarded as justified in the sight of God by keeping the Law. The Law brings only the consciousness of sin.
That’s the whole story. Here now is my final conclusion: Fear God and obey his commands, for this is everyone’s duty.This is the end of my teaching. All has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for that is the responsibility of everyone.
