Those who follow evil paths will be destroyed, and the children of the wicked will be cut off. |
“Do not be like your fathers, to whom the former prophets proclaimed, saying, ‘This is what the Lord of armies says: “Return now from your evil ways and from your evil deeds.” ’ But they did not listen or pay attention to Me,” declares the Lord. | Do not be like your ancestors, to whom the prophets of that time proclaimed. Who, as He already existed in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but emptied Himself by taking the form of a bond-servant and being born in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death: death on a cross. | Though he was in the form of God, he did not regard equality with God as something to be grasped. If only they had such a heart in them, to fear Me and keep all My commandments always, so that it would go well with them and with their sons forever! | Oh, that they would have fear of me in their hearts and they would observe all of my commandments always.
