What joy for the nation whose God is the Lord, whose people he has chosen as his inheritance. | Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, The people He has chosen as His own inheritance. |
Now a mediator is helpful if more than one party must reach an agreement. But God, who is one, did not use a mediator when he gave his promise to Abraham. | Now a mediator does not mediate for one only, but God is one. |
What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? | What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? |

It is better to be godly and have little than to be evil and rich. The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. | For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. |
