| Therefore, let us leave behind the basic teaching about Christ and advance toward maturity. | For this reason, he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who have been called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since his death has served to redeem the sins that were committed under the first covenant. | And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. |
| Indeed, under the Law almost everything is purified by blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. | And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. |
| So Christ, having been offered once to take away the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to bring salvation to those who are eagerly waiting for him. | So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. |
