I will teach you wisdom’s ways and lead you in straight paths. | I have taught you the way of wisdom; I have led you in the paths of uprightness. |
I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours. | So I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. |
Again he said, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.” | Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.” |
The Lord will stay with you as long as you stay with him! Whenever you seek him, you will find him. But if you abandon him, he will abandon you. | The Lord is with you, while you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you abandon him, he will abandon you. |
In those days when you pray, I will listen. | Then when you call upon me and come and pray to me, I will hear you. |
Not at all! And you will perish, too, unless you repent of your sins and turn to God. | No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all perish as they did. |

I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. | Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid. |
And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. | And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, to be with you forever. |
You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and you are right, because that’s what I am. | You call me Teacher and Lord—and you are right, for that is what I am. |
As I learn your righteous regulations, I will thank you by living as I should! | I will praise you with an upright heart, when I learn your righteous ordinances. |
When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. | When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. |
I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow! | I have said these things to you so that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be complete. |
Do not add to or subtract from these commands I am giving you. Just obey the commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you. | You must neither add anything to what I command you nor take away anything from it, but keep the commandments of the Lord your God with which I am charging you. |
